Interim Chief Executive Officer
Amy Chan is the Interim CEO of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, where she is leading the organization through a pivotal transition focused on enhancing its impact through grantmaking and advocacy. In her new role, Amy is responsible for setting strategic direction, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing the implementation of initiatives that advance ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ equity in the community.
Prior to her appointment as Interim CEO, Amy served as the Chief Administrative Officer, managing ´ºÓêÖ±²¥â€™s $100 million investment portfolio and $20 million annual budget. She also led the human resources, information technology, and business operations and compliance departments, ensuring that the organization operated efficiently and effectively.
Originally from New York City, Amy earned a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. Her professional journey began at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an auditor, after which she held key financial roles at JPMorgan Chase and Colgate-Palmolive. Before joining ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, Amy was the Chief Financial Officer at Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), where she developed and executed the organization’s financial strategy.
Amy’s diverse background in finance and administration, coupled with her commitment to community service, positions her to effectively lead ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ during this transitional period as the organization sharpens its focus on grantmaking and advocacy.
Director of Grantmaking
Maria Garcia is responsible for the strategic planning and management of the agency’s Grantmaking department. In her role, she communicates the agency’s grantmaking priorities to the community, provides technical assistance to prospective applicants, and supports grantee partners in meeting their project goals. Maria joined ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ in February 2010 as the agency’s Grants Administrator. She possesses over 20 years of nonprofit experience that includes managing direct services, board relations, community engagement, and fundraising. Maria holds a B.A. in Communication from Santa Clara University and M.A. from San Jose State University in Speech Communication.
Director of Business Operations
Ngoc Ho is the Director of Business Operations at ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, where she oversees finance, financial planning, budgeting, and operations. She ensures resources are strategically allocated to support the organization’s mission of advancing ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ equity through grantmaking and advocacy. With 14 years of experience in grants and contracts management, coupled with her expertise in leading process innovation through data-driven decision-making, Ngoc excels in leveraging her skills to enhance ´ºÓêÖ±²¥â€™s operational impact and improve outcomes.Â
Ngoc’s career spans the corporate, small business, academia, and nonprofit sectors, giving her a diverse perspective on operational efficiency and strategic leadership. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from San Jose State University.
Director of Development
Jenn Johnston heads all fundraising and communications for ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, ensuring deep, engaging relationships with donors, partners, and the wider community. Originally an East Coaster, she began her career at a small organization in Boston focused on empowering teen girls through media. Since then, Jenn has worked with organizations in San Francisco, Portland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Trenton, Camden, and Princeton on developing their resources, both monetary and human. Most recently, Jenn served as Chief Development Officer at YWCA Princeton, where she successfully realized a $4.8 million capital campaign, secured seed money for mission-critical pilot programs and capacity-building projects, and led celebratory donor, event, and branding activities for the organization’s centennial anniversary. She also held the role of Board Co-President for Women In Development New Jersey. Jenn has a deep passion for philanthropy, community mobilization, and social change. She holds her BA in Sociocultural Anthropology from Boston University.
