A Growing Sector with Increasing Wages

Ontario is making investments to support employment and services in community care and early years education. To support the shortage of Early Childhood Educators, the province’s official Child Care Workforce Strategy raised the starting wage in 2024 for Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) by 19.3% to $23.86/hour. With guaranteed $1/hour annual increases expanding through 2026,  the starting wage is now set at $25.86/hour   â€”   allowing you to confidently start the path to a secure and respected profession.
